Thursday, May 6, 2010 - Around 12:30 am two young Black men - both wearing black jeans, clean, new white "wife-beater" t-shirts, identical black back packs - were seen cruising sround Jack Street on bicycles. They rode around in circles and figures-of-eight in the intersections of Jack & w Main and Jack & Branard for some 20 minutes. When they realized they were being watched, they rode casually down W Main to Greeley, turned towards COlquitt, and then back around the block. The Police were called, but htese two had made their escape north on Jack and then East on Sul Ross but the time they arrived.
Very suspicious - especially given the epidemic of tagging we've recently experieinced.

Bicycles Stolen - 2 from me & 1 from my neighbors 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago

On Thursday, April 22, 2010, between 4 & 5 PM, @ 507 W. Main, someone-or more than one-crawled through a part of our fence (which we did not totally secure after Hurricane Ike - our fault) and came into our garage and stole 2 bicycles and went through the glove box of 1 car and stole a bag of change. I had just left to walk my dog and left the garage door open and my car unlocked - my fault again. On Tuesday, April 20, 2010, about 11 PM, our new neighbors in the apts. at 509 W. Main encountered a young white male in their courtyard and asked him what he was doing and he said he was getting his bike. The bike was theirs and words were exchanged and there was a scuffle. The young man picked up a pair of hedge clippers from the flower bed and threatened to kill them and he then took off with the hedge clippers and the bike. Since then they have replaced all the burned out lights in their courtyard and we have welded up our fence and we lock our cars and glove boxes no matter what. Thankfully, no one was hurt and bikes and a few bucks in coins were all that were taken. This has truly been a wake up call for us.
