Flowers on the median on Richmond east of Shepperd 3 Months, 1 Week ago
A lot of neighborhood associations have planted nice flowers in their medians, for example other parts of Richmond Avenue west of Shepherd. I think we should do the same on our stretch. It would look so much nicer. And it would also be nice to put up a sign that says First Montrose Commons with the Historic District symbol (assuming there is one) when that gets approved. If I'm not mistaken, currently there is a sign that says Neartown. Is this something we should discuss at our next meeting? Anyone else interested in tackling this project?

My understanding is that FMC did tend to the Richmond median by our neighborhood for many years, but stopped once Metro made it clear that the University Line would come through there. Now, rail construction might not start for 1 to 2 years. However, I don't think our membership is interested in investing in the median in the interim. Still, you're welcome to bring the matter up for discussion at a membership meeting.
