Dumping in 500 Block of Colquitt 3 Months ago

Has anyone noticed the 'dumping' that is going on in the 500 block of Colquitt on the curb of the empty lot owned by POST PROPERTIES? Couches, television, rugs, boxes and the ever increasing
pile of 'no longer accepted' plastic bags of yard waste. I was told by a neighbor in the 500 block that the person responsible for the bags of yard waste is the yardman for the rental property at 504 Colquitt - directly across the street - how convenient. I called the 311 Hotline and reported this situation and was told that they would refer it to the City of Houston Solid Waste Department and that the COHSWD would come out and might possibly remove the items. I also contacted POST PROPERTIES and spoke to the Regional Manager for that property and asked him if we could post "No Dumping" signs on his property. He gave his permission. He also told me that it would be a while before the property is developed due to the economy. I can only assume that the lot will remain as it is for a long while and that we can look forward to more possible dumping. I intend to look into the costs of a few signs and post them and hope this will deter future dumping. It's just so easy to buy the right bags and leave them on the curbside - just too easy.
